| The Periodic Table is a tabular display of the chemical elements. The invention of the table in this form is generally credited to Russian chemist Dmitri Mendeleev in 1869. Mendeleev created the table to show recurring ("periodic") trends in the properties of the elements. Of course the layout of the table has changed over time, with new elements added, and new theoretical models developed to explain chemical behavior.
The Periodic table of chemical elements is a tabular method of displaying the known chemical elemetns. While other tables similar to the Periodic Table are known, the invention of the modern Periodic table is credited to Russian chemist Dmitri Mendeleev in 1869.
