Practice and Review
To review, in roman numerls the number one looks like the letter I, a capital V is the number five, and the number ten looks like a capital X. A capital L is the roman numeral for fifty and a capital C is the roman numeral for one hundred. A capital D is the roman numeral for five hundred and a capital M is the roman numeral for one thousand.

To make other numbers you combine roman numerals together. For example VIII is the roman numeral for eight. However, placing a smaller roman numeral in front of a larger roman numeral subtracts the smaller from the larger. For example IV is one minus five and therefore it's the roman numeral for the number four. This is only valid for one roman numeral before another roman numeral. For instance XXC is not the roman numeral for eighty.
