While a roosters does often crow at the crack of dawn to proclaim his territory, it's not the only time he will crow. Roosters will often crow at just about any time during the day and even somtimes on a bright moonlight night. Roosters also have other calls as well. For example, they can cluck the same as a hen. Roosters will occasionally make a clucking sound to attract hens to a source of food.
