Australia is composed of the mainland of the world's smallest continent, as well as the island of Tasmania, and numerous other islands in the Indian and Pacific Oceans. Neighbors include East Timor, Papua New Guinea, and Indonesia to the north, the Vanuatu, New Caledonia, and Solomon Islands to the north-east, and New Zealand to the south-east.
